Fire Swirl Make Up - With World's Shortest Tutorial

Tässä päivitetty versio vähän aikaa sitten postaamastani Fiery Swirls -meikistä. Tämä meikki minulla oli kuvauksissa, josta laitoinkin eilen pari kuvaa tänne blogiin.
This is an updated version of the Fiery Swirls make up I posted a while ago. This is the look I had in the recent photoshoot.

 1. Hahmottele tumman punaisella luomivärillä haluttu muoto.

Olin aamulla tätä tehdessä melko väsynyt ja keskityin vain tekemään meikkiä. Tajusin sitten, kun meikki oli irtoripsiä vaille valmis, että enpäs sitten ottanutkaan kuvia välivaiheista. ;)

It was quite early in the morning when I did this look and I focused on the details. Then I realised I hadn't taken pictures since the first one. ;)

In A Dark Forest - a photoshoot

Tässä kuvia viimeisimmistä kuvauksista Markuksen kanssa. Kuvista ei ehkä uskoisi, että ulkona oli täysin pilvetön keli. Rakastan kuvien hieman epätodellista tunnelmaa ja sävymaailmaa.

Here are a couple of pictures from my latest photoshoot with Markus. When you look at the pictures you probably won't believe it was a totally sunny day. I love the bit unnatural atmosphere and tones in these pictures.

Out With The Old

Nyt olisi hyvä hetki listata loppuneita tuotteita viimeiseltä parilta kuukaudelta. Hiustenhoitotuotteita loppui kerralla vähän turhankin paljon.

It's time to make a list of products I've used up during the last couple of months. 

- Revlon ColorStay foundation (oily/combination), 110 Ivory 
- L'Oreal Million Lashes (waterproof)
- Elizabeth Arden, Double Density
- Maybelline, Lash Stiletto (waterproof)

Revlonin meikkivoidetta voisin ostaa toistekin. Pysyy kasvoilla koko päivän, mutta todella työlästä poistaa meikkisiveltimistä, josta aika iso miinus. Näistä ripsiväreistä olen ostanut uudelleen Maybellinen Lash Stiletton, juurikin vedenkestävänä. Pitää taivutukset hyvin ja melko helppo poistaa vedenkestäväksi.

I'll probably buy Revlon's foundation again. It's lasts on my face the whole day, but it's a bitch to clean from my foundation brushes. Maybelline's Lash Stiletto wp is now one of my favorites. It keeps my lashes curly.

Smooth as Silk hoitoainetta olen ostanut jo lisää. Se tekee hiuksista todella hyvän tuntuiset ja selvittää takut nopeasti. Ihanaa ainetta. :) Lactolinen kasvopesua ja kasvovettä olen ostanut vuosien varrella useaan otteeseen. Nyt vaihteeksi käytössä jotain muuta. Lidlin kynsilakanpoistoaine on vakiosuosikki ja sitä löytyy aina. B-Complex shampoo oli varsin kiva uusi tuttavuus ja ostan varmaan joskus uudestaan.

I've already repurchased Smooth As Silk conditioner. It's lovely stuff. Makes my hair smooth and tangle free as promised. I've used quite a few bottles of Lactoline's facewash and toner, but now I'm trying something else for a change. Lidl's Cien nail polish remover is something that I always have. great and cheap stuff. B-Complex shampoo was quite nice so I'll probably buy it again some day.

Garnierin vartalovoiteista minulla on kokeilussa toinen versio. Ihan ok, mutta ei nämä ihmeitä tee. Lactolinen pesunestettä minulla on aina suihkussa. En hirveästi välittänyt tuosta Tea Tree shampoosta. Varsinkin talvella  viilentävä vaikutus päänahassa oli epämiellyttävä suihkussa käydessä (muutenkin oli niin kylmä). Chocomaniaa tuskin ostan lisää. Ei sittenkään päässyt tuoksunsa vuoksi suosikkilistalle.

I already have another kind of body lotion from Garnier. They're just ok. Lactoline's bodywash is something I always have in the shower. I didn't care too much for Tea Tree shampoo. The cooling effect was quite annoying especially during the winter when it was cold already. Chocomania didn't impress me after all. The scent wasn't as good as I hoped. 

Orange Lipstick?

Olen nähtävästi tykästynyt käyttämään huulipunissa vastavärejä: violettia, vihreää (turkoosia) ja nyt pitkällisen harkinnan jälkeen uskaltauduin kokeilemaan oranssia. Ja taisin vähän ihastua. Tänään ainakin Turun MAC -ständille tuli kevään kaksi uutta kokoelmaa: Reel Sexy ja Hey Sailor. Hey Sailor kokoelmassa on punaoranssi 'Sail La Vie' satin huulipuna ja hitsi se on kiva. Väri on kirkas, muttei räikyvä. Mutta olen mielestäni nähnyt vastaavia edullisemmilla sarjoilla, joten tämä taitaa kuitenkin jäädä välistä.

I seem to like complementary colors in lipsticks (I hadn't really thought of that before today): purple, green (turquoise) and now after thinking about it quite a while, orange. I think I fell in love a bit. MAC's Reel Sexy and Hey Sailor collections were released in Finland today. There's a lipstick called 'Sail La Vie' in Hey Sailor and it's really fun and lovely. Red based orange. Birght, but not too bright. I still think I've seen something very similar from other brands, so I probably won't buy this one.

Vertasin tätä 'Morange' sävyyn ja se on huomattavasti oranssimpi. Tykkäsin itse tästä huomattavasti enemmän. Kävin MAC ständillä heti aamulla (lähdin töihin 30min normaalia aiemmin), mutta kokoelmat eivät vielä olleet esillä. Vähän harmittaa, koska himoitsin 'Heroine' huulipunaa (tumma punavioletti), mutta en uskaltanut ostaa sokkona. Noh, töiden jälkeen ne oli tietysti myyty jo loppuun. :( Ovatko muut löytäneet jotain kivaa hankittavaa uusista kokoelmista?

I compared this to Morange, which is much more orange. I liked this one better. I went to MAC stand first thing in the morning (I left for work 30 mins early), but the collections weren't there yet. I was quite disappointed 'cause I thought about getting 'Heroine' lipstick (dark, red based purple) from Reel Sexy, but wanted to try it out before buying. Well, when I got back to the stand after work that lipstick was of course sold out. :( Have you found anything nice to buy from the new collections?

Tämä värikombo ei ehkä toimi niin hyvin kuin videon turkoosi. Tätäkin pitä testata vielä toisen kerran, koska idea on todella hauska ja erilainen.

This color combination doesn't work as well as the turquoise in the video. I need to test this for a second time, because the idea is so fun and different.

T for Teal

Ulkona on mukavan keväistä, joten päätin pitkästä aikaa meikata vähän kirkkaammilla väreillä. Tällä kertaa vuorossa oli kirkas turkoosi.

It was a nice and sunny day so I decided to use some brighter eye shadows after a long while.

 Primer:

Minulla olisi ollut myös MACin Pearlglide-kynistä sävy 'Undercurrent', joka on turkoosi kultaisella hohteella, mutta tuo Petrol Blue on jotenkin mielenkiintoisempi vaihtoehto alaluomelle.

I also own Pearlglide pencil in Undercurrent, which is turquoise with gold shimmer, but I thought that Petrol Blue looks more interesting on the lower lashline.

Olen käyttänyt tätä yhdistelmää aiemminkin. Turkoosia silmissä ja violettia huulilla. Kävimme iltapäivällä katsomassa 'The Avengers' -leffan ja ennen näytöstä piti käydä hakemassa vähän karkkia. Kassalla sain myyjältä kovasti kehuja meikistäni. :) Tuli tosi hyvä mieli, koska ihmiset harvemmin antaa kehuja, varsinkaan, jos on tällainen vähän erikoisempi meikki kyseessä. (Leffakin oli varsin mainio. :) )

I've used this teal/purple combination before. We went to see 'The Avengers' movie this afternoon and wentto get some candy before the screening. The lady at the register complemented my make up and said that it looks really good on me. :) This made me feel really good. People say nice things quite rarely, especially if I'm wearing something unusual. (And I really enjoyed the movie too. :) )

MAC: Pink Cult blush

Tämä kaunokainen saapui syntymäpäivälahjaksi rapakon toiselta puolelta. Kiitos ihanien ystävieni. <3 Olen semi-aktiivisesti metsästänyt MACin Pink Cult poskipunaa viime vuoden keväästä lähtien. Se julkaistiin ensimmäisen kerran Jeanious -kokoelmassa, joka ei tietenkään tullut Suomeen asti. >:( Onneksi se julkaistiin uudestaan osana tämän kevään 'Reel Sexy' -kokoelmaa. 'Reel Sexy' on jo ständeillä ainakin Usassa ja meille se tulee ensi viikolla (2.5.). En kuitenkaan halunnut jättää sen hankkimista Suomen tarjonnan varaan, joten pyysin sitä Amerikasta.

This pretty blush was sent to me as gift. Thanks to my dear friends. <3 I've been hunting this blush  since spring 2011. Originally it was realeased as a part of 'Jeanious' collection, but that wasn't released in Finland. Surprise. >:( But now it's been re-released as a part of 'Reel Sexy' collection (already out in the US and will be here next week). I didn't want to take the risk of the collection not coming out here and asked my friends for help.

Pink Cult on melko jännän värinen ja ensi silmäyksellä sävy ei vaikuta kovin käyttökelpoiselta. Puna on neutraali, harmahtavan vaaleanpunainen. Iholla sävy on kuitenkin todella kaunis, luonnollinen punastus. Ihanan helppo ja monikäyttöinen poskipuna. Koostumus on pigmenttinen, helposti levittyvä ja matta. Olen siis enemmän kuin tyytyväinen, että minulla on nyt tämä. Tähän on todella helpo tarttua sellaisena aamuna, kun ei jaksa miettiä yhtään, mitä sutisi naamaansa.

Pink Cult looks a bit odd in the pan. It's almost greyish, neutral pink. But when applied it looks very natural and pretty. Goes well with everything. It's pigmented, easy to blend and matte. I'm more than happy to finally own this. Great choice for busy mornings.

Tässä kuvassa näkyy melko hyvin, miltä Pink Pult näyttää poskilla (varjostuksena e.l.f.:in Cool Bronzer). Ihanan värinen. :) En ihmettele, että tätä poskipunaa on kehuttu netissä todella paljon. Se nähtävästi sopii todella hyvin eri sävyisille ihoille ja pigmenttisyytensä ansiosta näkyy myös hieman tummemmalla iholla.

Here you can see how the blush looks on my cheeks (I'm using e.l.f.'s Cool Bronzer in contouring). Such a lovely blush. :) I'm not surprised that this blush has been praised in the net. It fits different skin tones really well.
