Lipstick Traces - My Lipstick Collection

Minulle on kertynyt yllättävän paljon huulipunia vuosien varrella. Tarkoitukseni oli kuvata kokoelma jo ennen joulua, mutta aikaa ei ollut tarpeeksi. Nyt lomalla sain rauhassa ikuistaa punat ja tehdä swatchit.
I've bought quite a few lipsticks over the years. I was planning on doing this post before christmas, but didn't have the time after all. Now I took pictures and swatched the lippies over holidays. 

MAC

My neutral MAC lipsticks. My favorites are (as you can probably see) Viva Glam V, Aristo-Cat (which was part of Fabulous Felines collection) and Hellraiser (Dazzle Lipstick collection).

Then my dark and red lipsticks by MAC. Most of these are limited edition, so I feel kinda bad for showing them to you. :/ Some of them can be really hard (and expensive) to find. My favorites from this bunch are 'Runaway Red' from MAC Me Over collection and Snazzy from Dazzle Lipstick collection. 

Random pinks and reds. :) My favorite is Maybelline's Scarlet Sensation. It's really beautiful, deep, shimmery berry red. <3

Here's the odd bunch. ;D But I love them dearly. As you probably know Viva La Diva's gorgeous purple lippie 'Kharma' is quite perfect. But KIKO and Elizabeth Arden are equally beautiful. 

NYX

My NYX lipsticks. These are really affordable and usually they have very good pigmentation. But I'm not completely sure why I've ordered shades like Athena and Cinnamon Sugar... But Pluto and Decadent and perfect lipsticks for 20s looks. Very dark and sultry. 

Urban Decay lipsticks have the most gorgeous tubes, but they are quite hard to photograph because of that. And the black Chanel lipstick case is Rouge Allure Laque 'Dragon' (also quite inconvenient to photograph). 


Huulipunakokoelmani pääväri on siis punainen eri sävyissään. Nudeja minulla ei oikeastaan ole, vaikka ne hieman kiinnostaisivatkin (ehkä joskus löydän sävyn, joka sopii ihonväriini). Haluaisin lisää erikoisempia värejä. Morgana Cryptorialtahan minulla on sampleja ja joskus tilaan sieltä lisää ihan täysikokoisia huulipunia.
The main color of my collection is red in different shades. I would like to own a good nude lipstick, but I need to find the perfect shade for my complexion. I'd also like to have more unusual shades. I do have some samples from Morgana Cryptoria and I will order more in the future.

Fox Fires

Joulu on mennyt nopeasti perheen luona hieman sairastellen, joten blogi on myös ollut pienellä lomalla. Nyt ulkona pauhaavat kovat myrskytuulet, joten katsotaan ehdinkö kirjoittamaan tämän ennen kuin sähköt katkeavat. Ajattelin laittaa tähän kuvat meikistä, jolla osallistuin Makeuptalk.comin ja Sugarpillin yhteistyössä järkkäämään meikkikilpailuun. Aiheena oli 'colorful winter wonderland'. Oma inspiraationi oli revontulet ja 'Lumikuningatar' -elokuva. Voittajat julkaistaan lähiaikoina. Toivottavasti pärjäsin hyvin. :)
Christmas time has gone quickly. We're visiting my parents and I've been a bit sick so my blog has been on a small vacation. Now storm winds are blowing outside so power may go out at any second. (I really hope it won't.) I thought I'd post pictures of a look a did for a make up competition/giveaway. The theme was 'colorful winter wonderland'. It was held by Makeuptalk.com and Sugarpill. My inspiration was Northern Lights and an old Finnish children's movie called 'Snow Queen'. Winners will be announced soon. I hope I did well. :)

This look needed some accessories. I wish I had wigs, but this time I had take just some white tulle.

Tropical Absinthe

"Oli synkkä ja myrsyinen yö..." Joten sen vastapainoksi jotain värikästä: turkoosia, limeä ja keltaista.

" It was a dark and stormy night..." The weather has been awful around here so I wanted to do something bright and colorful: turquoise, lime green and yellow.

Morgana Cryptoria lipsticks - swatches

Tässä tulee lupailemani hieman syvempi arvio ja swatchit Morgana Cryptorian huulipunista. Punat ovat vegaanisia ja sävyvalikoima kattaa kaikki sateenkaaren värit (hinta on 12$/huulipuna). Olen lukenut paljon hyvää Morganan huulipunista eri blogeista ja aiemmin keväällä kaipasin turkoosia/vihreää huulipunaa klubimeikkiä varten. Tein tilauksen ja sain samalla tilattua myös sampleja muista väreistä. Nykyään sampleja ei enää saa, koska niiden myyminen ei nähtävästi ollut kannattavaa työmäärään nähden. Myös värivalikoima on kokenut pienen uudistuksen sitten oman maaliskuisen tilaukseni. Enemmän aiheesta löytyy hänen sivuiltaan.

Here's the review and swatches of Morgana Cryptoria lipsticks as promised. These are vegan and they come in all colours of the rainbow (price is 12$ per lipstick). I've read so much good about these lipsticks in different blogs and few months back I needed turquoise/green lipstick for a club make up. I ordered Enchanted Emerald + samples. Unfortunately the lipstick samples are not available anymore. I guess it took too much time and effort to make. Morgana has also taken some shades down. Here's more about that subject.

 

Enchanted Emerald. (Pahoittelut melko kamalasta huulikuvasta. Ehdottomasti hankalin asia kuvata omasta naamasta on nimen omaan huulet. Väri näyttää luonnossa paljon tasaisemmalta. En tiedä, johtuuko tuo epätasaisuus vain salamasta. / Sorry about the quite awful lip swatch. I find it really hard to take decent pictures of my lips. The lipstick is much more even in reality. I have no idea if the flash makes it look like that.)

Otherwordly (lopetettu sävy/discontinued)

Absinthe

Swatchit kaikista sävyistä (yläkuvassa salaman kanssa). Näistä Turquoise, Enchanted Sapphire ja Otherwordly on lopetettu./ Swatches of all shades (upper picture taken with flash). Turquoise, Enchanted Sapphire and Otherwordly have been discontinued. 

Pidän aika paljon Morganan huulipunista. Niissä on hyvä ja kestävä koostumus (ainoastaan Enchanted Sapphire on melko huonosti levittyvä, mutta nyt sävy on lopetettu.) Näistä kuvista puuttuu Gilded Cerise, josta postasin kuvat jo aiemmin. Sen aion ostaa oikeankokoisena. Myös Absinthe kiinnostaisi, mutta minulla on jo tuo Emerald. Harmi, että Turquoise ei ole enää valikoimissa, koska se on aivan ihana väri. 

I like Morgana's lipsticks quite a lot. They're easy to apply and they are long lasting (Enchanted Sapphire is quite hard to work with, but it's discontinued). These pictures are missing Gilded Cerise, which I posted about earlier. It's a lovely shade which I will buy full size one day. I'm also interested in Absinthe, but I think Emerald is close enough. Too bad Turquoise disappeared too 'cause that is just a lovely shade.  

Pink, Grey and some Morgana Cryptoria

Nyt vihdoin jonkun muun värisiä silmämeikkejä. ;)
Ensimmäisen tein vapaapäivän kunniaksi. Olisin voinut tehdä jotain vähän dramaattisempaakin, koska en käynyt ulkona tuona päivänä (olen tosin tottunut kulkemaan ihmisten ilmoilla mitä kummallisimmissa meikeissä, joten harvemmin jaksan miettiä muiden mielipiteitä).
Now finally something other than turquoise. ;)
I had a day off and decided to play with colors. I could've done something more dramatic 'cause I didn't go out that day (not that I mind being outside wearing really weird and edgy makeup).

- eyeliner: Rimmel Exaggerate, black

- mascara: Elizabeth Arden Double Density

Harmaa, pinkki ja violetti käyvät yhteen todella kivasti. Pitää tehdä jotain samanlaista joskus muulloinkin. Käytin myös pitkästä aikaa e.l.f:in luomivärin pohjustajaa. Maksoin siitä muistaakseni dollarin, joten vaikka tuo ei toimisi, niin ei olisi kovin suuri menetys. Mutta ainakin mattavärien alla toimii hyvin. Ihan koko päivää ei kestä nättinä, mutta työpäivän verran sentään. 

Grey, pink and purple work together really nicely. Must try this combo again some day. I used e.l.f. eyelid primer after a long while. I paid dollar for mine, so it wouldn't be a big loss if it didn't work. But it works nicely at least with matte shadows. It doesn't stay put the whole day, but it's ok for workdays.

Tämän päivän meikki. Kokeilin vihdoinkin Urban Decayn mattaväriä Heist:ia. Aivan ihanan värinen neutraali. Tuo on joku ruskean, harmaan ja violetin yhdistelmä. Tämän yhdistin sitten kesäiset huulet. Tilasin pari kuukautta sitten Morgana Cryptorialta huulipunan ja siinä samalla sampleja. Tämä oli yksi sample: Gilded Cerise. <3 Aivan ihana pinkki, jossa on kultaista hohdetta. Tilaan sen ehdottomasti, kun sample alkaa loppua. Nykyään huulipunista ei saa enää sampleja, joten olen onnellinen, että ehdin vielä ne tilaamaan. Muista väreistä teen erillisen postauksen myöhemmin. 

Today's face. :) I finally tried Urban Decay's Heist. It's a really lovely and pigmented neutral shadow. Something between brown, grey and muted purple. I paired this look with summery lips. I ordered a lipstick and some lipstick samples from Morgana Cryptoria couple of months ago. This was one of the samples: Gilded Cerise. <3 Lovely red-pink with golden sheen. I will absolutely order it when I run out of my sample. Morgana doesn't offer lipstick samples anymore, so I'm happy I was able to get mine. I'll make a separate post about the other shades later.
