Bright Inspiration

Minuun iski ainakin hetkellinen meikki-inspiraatio ja sen tuloksena syntyi mm. tämä melko värikäs meikki. Olen välillä seilaillut Instagramia ja siellä on tullut vastaan muutamia upeita meikkejä, joita haluan testailla. Tämä on oma versioni muutamasta näkemästäni kuvasta.

Primer:

Tulin tästä meikistä valtavan hyvälle tuulelle. Meikkaan edelleen suurimman osan ajasta ruskean eri sävyillä, joten tämä oli tervetullut piristysruiske. Se vähän harmittaa, etten jaksa laittaa irtoripsiä kovin usein, mutta aika hyvin tämä toimii ilmankin.

Nyt huulimeikki ei tuottanut ongelmaa, koska olin päättänyt jo etukäteen, että menen melko nudella linjalla (MAC: Oxblood).

Bright Pink & Lime

Yhdistin hieman erikoisemmat värit keskenään: pinkin ja limen. Aika räväkkä, sanoisinko. :)

I combined two bit unusual colors together: pink & lime. Quite bright, I'd say. :)

Salamalla otetussa kuvassa näkyy, kuinka kirkas pinkki oikeasti on. Huulilla on Milanin Lip Flash -kynä sävyssä 04 Photo Flash.

As you can see from the picture which was taken with flash, the pink is really bright. I'm wearing Milani's Lip Flash pencil on 04 Photo Flash.

(Testasin tilaamaani peruukkia. Laatu on yllättävän hyvä ja tykkään väristä. Kuvausrekvisiitaksi ajattelin tätä lähinnä, mutta ehkä voisin käyttää ihan muutenkin joku päivä.

I was testing a new wig I got today. The quality is surprisingly good and I really like the color. I hope to use this in some photoshoots, but I could wear when going out too.)

Bright, Bright Green

Kesä on nähtävästi saapunut. Aika siirtyä kirkkaisiin silmämeikkeihin. :)

Summer has arrived, it seems. It's time for bright eye make up. :)

Tuo keltavihreä näyttää kuvissa melko pitkälle keltaiselle. Se on luonnossa todella kirkkaan värinen, lähes neonvihreä. En oikein tiedä, mitä mieltä olen tuosta NYXin pohjustajasta. Yksinään se ei toimi ja UDPP:n päällekin levitettynä se tahtoo hakeutua luomivakoon. Mutta tällaisten kirkkaiden ja vaaleiden värien pohjustajana se tuo värit kunnolla esiin.

The yellow green looks very yellow in pictures. It's *really* bright in real life, almost neon. I'm still not sure about NYX's eyeshadow base. It doesn't work on it's own and even with UDPP it tends to crease. But it really brings out bright and light shades.

Huomasin muuten, että blogini täytti tuossa pari viikkoa sitten vuoden. Ekat synttärit. Jee!! :) Tarkoitus oli järkätä jotain kivaa vuosipäivän kunniaksi, mutta kiireiden alla koko juttu unohtui. Onneksi tässä on aikaa, joten pientä mukavaa on siis luvassa. :)

Olen viime päivinä myös miettinyt, tarvitsenko Sugarpillin uutta Heart Breaker -palettia. Siinä on aivan upeat sävyt, mutta minulta taitaa löytyä vastaavat jo entuudestaan (katsotaan uudestaan sitten Black Friday -alennusmyyntien aikaan). Sain paletista kuitenkin idean käyttää tässä meikissä kirkasta keltavihreää ja sinistä.

I noticed that my blog had it's first birthday couple of weeks ago. I was supposed to do something about it, but I was way too busy at the time and forgot. :/ But I'll think of something nice when life isn't as hectic anymore. :)

I've been thinking about getting Sugarpill's new palette, 'Heart Breaker'. It has really gorgeous shades, but I feel that I already have something very similar (I might reconsider when the Black Friday sales are upon us this year). But I got the idea from that palette to use bright yellow green with blue.

Fire Swirl Make Up - With World's Shortest Tutorial

Tässä päivitetty versio vähän aikaa sitten postaamastani Fiery Swirls -meikistä. Tämä meikki minulla oli kuvauksissa, josta laitoinkin eilen pari kuvaa tänne blogiin.
This is an updated version of the Fiery Swirls make up I posted a while ago. This is the look I had in the recent photoshoot.

Olin aamulla tätä tehdessä melko väsynyt ja keskityin vain tekemään meikkiä. Tajusin sitten, kun meikki oli irtoripsiä vaille valmis, että enpäs sitten ottanutkaan kuvia välivaiheista. ;)

T for Teal

Ulkona on mukavan keväistä, joten päätin pitkästä aikaa meikata vähän kirkkaammilla väreillä. Tällä kertaa vuorossa oli kirkas turkoosi.

It was a nice and sunny day so I decided to use some brighter eye shadows after a long while.

Minulla olisi ollut myös MACin Pearlglide-kynistä sävy 'Undercurrent', joka on turkoosi kultaisella hohteella, mutta tuo Petrol Blue on jotenkin mielenkiintoisempi vaihtoehto alaluomelle.

I also own Pearlglide pencil in Undercurrent, which is turquoise with gold shimmer, but I thought that Petrol Blue looks more interesting on the lower lashline.

Olen käyttänyt tätä yhdistelmää aiemminkin. Turkoosia silmissä ja violettia huulilla. Kävimme iltapäivällä katsomassa 'The Avengers' -leffan ja ennen näytöstä piti käydä hakemassa vähän karkkia. Kassalla sain myyjältä kovasti kehuja meikistäni. :) Tuli tosi hyvä mieli, koska ihmiset harvemmin antaa kehuja, varsinkaan, jos on tällainen vähän erikoisempi meikki kyseessä. (Leffakin oli varsin mainio. :) )

I've used this teal/purple combination before. We went to see 'The Avengers' movie this afternoon and wentto get some candy before the screening. The lady at the register complemented my make up and said that it looks really good on me. :) This made me feel really good. People say nice things quite rarely, especially if I'm wearing something unusual. (And I really enjoyed the movie too. :) )

Neon Rainbow

Tarkoituksenani oli kokeilla, kuinka hyvin NYXin valkoinen luomivärinpohjustaja toimii MACin neon-pigmenttien kanssa ja lopputulos olikin jotain muuta. :) Vastaus kysymykseen on: huonosti. MACin neonväriset pigmentit ovat kovin jauhoisia ja koska ne ne ovat mattavärejä, niiden työstäminen on vaikeaa. Pitää yrittää jollain muulla keinossa seuraavaksi. Tein sitten Manly -paletilla kirkkaan sateenkaarimeikin aurinkoisen päivän kunniaksi.

The original idea was to try how MAC's neon pigments work with NYX's Eyeshadows Base in white and this ended up begin something completely else. :) And the answer to my first question is: poorly. MAC's neon pigment are chalky and totally matte, which makes working with them very difficult. Next time I need to think of something else. I finished the look by using Manly palette and did a bright rainbow look.

Burning Heart Revisited

Sugarpillin 'Burning Heart' -palettia ei tule käytettyä tarpeeksi usein. Ehkä näin talvella värit tuntuvat vähän turhan räikeiltä. Tänään iski kuitenkin inspiraatio tehdä tulinen silmämeikki (yksi aiempi versio löytyy täältä). Värit todellakin ovat näin kirkkaat, en ole käsitellyt kuvia mitenkään.
I don't use Sugarpill's 'Burning Heart' palette often enough. And maybe this time of the year the colors feel a bit too bright, but today I wanted to do a fiery look (other look using this palette can be found here). The eye shadows really are this bright, I haven't added any contrast.

Taidan ihan oikeasti näyttää näin valkoiselta talvella kirkkaassa luonnonvalossa ja kirkas silmämeikki vain korostaa asiaa. :)

I think I look this pale in bright natural light during winter and bright eye make makes me look even paler. :)

Tropical Absinthe

"Oli synkkä ja myrsyinen yö..." Joten sen vastapainoksi jotain värikästä: turkoosia, limeä ja keltaista.

" It was a dark and stormy night..." The weather has been awful around here so I wanted to do something bright and colorful: turquoise, lime green and yellow.

Dark Rainbow with Inglot

Olen mielestäni tehnyt viime aikoina aika "turvallisia" meikkejä värien suhteen, joten halusin kokeilla jotain vähän värikkäämpää. Sateenkaarimeikit on aina kivoja. :) (Huom! Olen lomalla tällä viikolla, joten blogi toimii vähän hitaammin.)
I feel that my eye make looks have been quite "safe" lately, so I wanted to try something more colorful. Rainbow make up is always fun. :) (Note: I'm on vacation this week, so updating is a bit slower.)
