Vastavärit, osa III - Yellow & Purple

Vielä viimeinen osa vastavärimeikeistä tällä erää. Tämä yhdistelmä oli haastavin. Olen yhdistellyt violettia ja kultaa, mutta mattakeltaisen lisääminen ja värien yhteenhäivyttäminen olikin melko työlästä. Nähtävästi meikki onnistui ihan hyvin, koska Sokoksen vaateosaston myyjä kehui kovasti meikkiä.

Mikä näistä kolmesta oli oma suosikkisi?

Dirty Spring Yellow

Likaista keltaista. Enpä olisi joskus muutaman vuosi sitten uskonut käyttäväni meikissä tällaisia sävyjä. Joku näissä likaisissa väreissä minua nyt kiehtoo. Meikin pohjalla on Mehronin sinapinkeltainen 'Solar Wind' ja vihreät sävyt ovat Wet'n Wildin 'Comfort Zone' -paletista. Sipaisin vielä liikkuvalle luomelle MACin Old Gold pigmenttiä, joka on sekin vähän sellainen likaisen sävyinen.  

Alaluomella taas on 'Comfort Zone'-paletin vihreän-ruskeaa duochrome sävyä. Se sopii tähän vähän kummalliseen värien yhdistelmään.

Toinen meikki on enemmän minun näköiseni. Luomella oleva sävy on 120 sävyn paletista ja on napissa enemmänkin limenvihreä, mutta luomella lopputulos on lähinnä keltainen. Tämä on varsin harmittava piirre keltaisen vihreissä luomiväreissä, että ne näyttävät vain keltaisilta. Ehkä valkoinen pohjustaja voisi auttaa.

En valitettavasti muista enää tarkasti, mitä sävyjä käytin. Tuo viininpunainen on Grimasin 681 ja jälleen lisäsin luomelle MACin Old Goldia. Taisin suunnitella tähän meikkiin jotain toisen väristä rajausta, mutta totesin, että menee liian levottomaksi, joten mustala mentiin.

If someone had told me few years ago that I'm using yellows in my make up I probably would've told them they're nuts. I still don't think these muddy yellows are my thing, but somehow I like them a lot. 

Bruised Colors

Välillä tulee yhdisteltyä outoja sävyjä keskenään. Nämä kaksi seuraavaa meikkiä eivät välttämättä ole omat suosikkini, mutta niissä on jotain oudolla tavalla mielenkiintoista.

Sometimes I want to combine a bit weird colors together. These next looks aren't exactly in my top 10, but there's something weirdly interesting about them.

Alun perin minulla oli ideana tätä meikkiä tehdessä syksyinen oranssi. Noh, juuri sellaista sävyä minulta ei löytynyt(!), joten lopputulos muistuttaa enemmänkin vanhaa mustelmaa. Silti tykkään tästä meikistä. En enää muista ihan varmasti kaikkia sävyjä, mutta käytin sekä Wet 'n Wildin 'Comfort Zone' -palettia sekä Manly-palettia (josta on nimen omaan tuo kellertävä sävy). Ilman rajauksia tämä olisi todellakin ollut sen näköinen, että joku olisi saattanut kysyä, onko minulla silmät mustana.

When I started doing this look I first thought about using warm orange/terracotta. But, to my surprise, I don't own a shade like that(!). So my look ended up resembling an old bruise. ;) But I still like this. I don't remember all the shadows I used, but mainly the shades were from Wet 'n Wild 'Comfort Zone' palette and Manly palette (that yellowish shade is from that one). Without the liner this would've looked like I was seriously black eyed.

Tämä oli myös hyvin kokeiluluontoinen meikki. Rajauksen pois jättäminen on minulle täysin epätyypillistä. Ja itse asiassa minulle tuli hieman epävarma olo tämän meikin kanssa. Näytän näissä meikeissä vähän oudolta, mutta sitä olin vähän hakemassakin. Halusin yhdistää tummat huulet ja kalpean ihon melko vaatimattomaan silmämeikkiin. Testasin myös ensimmäistä kertaa Ben Nyen Super White puuteria ja se on nimensä veroinen. Todella valkoinen. :)

This look was also pretty experimental. I left out the eyeliner, which is very atypical of me. And I have to say it made me feel a bit insecure. I'm looking a bit odd, but that was what I was aiming at. I wanted to combine dark lips and pale skin with simple eye make up. I also tested Ben Nye's Super White powder for the first time and it really lives up to its name. :)

Bright, Bright Green

Kesä on nähtävästi saapunut. Aika siirtyä kirkkaisiin silmämeikkeihin. :)

Tuo keltavihreä näyttää kuvissa melko pitkälle keltaiselle. Se on luonnossa todella kirkkaan värinen, lähes neonvihreä. En oikein tiedä, mitä mieltä olen tuosta NYXin pohjustajasta. Yksinään se ei toimi ja UDPP:n päällekin levitettynä se tahtoo hakeutua luomivakoon. Mutta tällaisten kirkkaiden ja vaaleiden värien pohjustajana se tuo värit kunnolla esiin.

The yellow green looks very yellow in pictures. It's *really* bright in real life, almost neon. I'm still not sure about NYX's eyeshadow base. It doesn't work on it's own and even with UDPP it tends to crease. But it really brings out bright and light shades.

Huomasin muuten, että blogini täytti tuossa pari viikkoa sitten vuoden. Ekat synttärit. Jee!! :) Tarkoitus oli järkätä jotain kivaa vuosipäivän kunniaksi, mutta kiireiden alla koko juttu unohtui. Onneksi tässä on aikaa, joten pientä mukavaa on siis luvassa. :)

Olen viime päivinä myös miettinyt, tarvitsenko Sugarpillin uutta Heart Breaker -palettia. Siinä on aivan upeat sävyt, mutta minulta taitaa löytyä vastaavat jo entuudestaan (katsotaan uudestaan sitten Black Friday -alennusmyyntien aikaan). Sain paletista kuitenkin idean käyttää tässä meikissä kirkasta keltavihreää ja sinistä.

I noticed that my blog had it's first birthday couple of weeks ago. I was supposed to do something about it, but I was way too busy at the time and forgot. :/ But I'll think of something nice when life isn't as hectic anymore. :)

I've been thinking about getting Sugarpill's new palette, 'Heart Breaker'. It has really gorgeous shades, but I feel that I already have something very similar (I might reconsider when the Black Friday sales are upon us this year). But I got the idea from that palette to use bright yellow green with blue.

Fire Swirl Make Up - With World's Shortest Tutorial

Tässä päivitetty versio vähän aikaa sitten postaamastani Fiery Swirls -meikistä. Tämä meikki minulla oli kuvauksissa, josta laitoinkin eilen pari kuvaa tänne blogiin.
This is an updated version of the Fiery Swirls make up I posted a while ago. This is the look I had in the recent photoshoot.

Olin aamulla tätä tehdessä melko väsynyt ja keskityin vain tekemään meikkiä. Tajusin sitten, kun meikki oli irtoripsiä vaille valmis, että enpäs sitten ottanutkaan kuvia välivaiheista. ;)

Fiery Swirls

Tein helmikuussa tämän meikin ja mietin jo silloin, että se näyttäisi hyvältä myös muun värisenä. Mahdollista kuvausta varten testasin meikkiä kelta-punaisena. Meikki vaatisi tekoripset, mutta en keksinyt mitään sopivia tähän hätään. :/

I made this look in February and thought back then that the look would be quite awesome in yellows and reds. I tried this combination for an upcoming photoshoot. I should have used some false eyelashes, but couldn't think of any that would suit the look. :/

Jostain syystä meikin väreistä tuli mieleen 'Finding Nemo' -elokuva. :)

For some reason the colors and the shapes in this make up reminded me of 'Finding Nemo' movie. :)

Meikin ideana oli, että kaikki muu on väritöntä ja päätin kokeilla Lime Crimen 'Chinchilla' -huulipunaa huulille. En ole ihan varma lopputuloksesta. Ehkä joku ihan puhdas harmaa tai ehkä taupe olisi paras vaihtoehto, jos huulet haluaa pitää värittömänä.

Idea behind this look was to keep everything else colorless/muted except the eyes. I tried Lime Crime's Chinchilla lipstick for the lips, but I think pure grey or maybe taupe would work best.

Kokeilin meikkiä vielä värillisllä huulilla ja tämä yhdistelmä toimii tosi kivasti. Pitää vielä miettiä sitten lopullista meikkiä, kun sen aika tulee.

I tried the look with colorful lips and it works very nicely. I need to think what to do with final look.

Burning Heart Revisited

Sugarpillin 'Burning Heart' -palettia ei tule käytettyä tarpeeksi usein. Ehkä näin talvella värit tuntuvat vähän turhan räikeiltä. Tänään iski kuitenkin inspiraatio tehdä tulinen silmämeikki (yksi aiempi versio löytyy täältä). Värit todellakin ovat näin kirkkaat, en ole käsitellyt kuvia mitenkään.
I don't use Sugarpill's 'Burning Heart' palette often enough. And maybe this time of the year the colors feel a bit too bright, but today I wanted to do a fiery look (other look using this palette can be found here). The eye shadows really are this bright, I haven't added any contrast.

Taidan ihan oikeasti näyttää näin valkoiselta talvella kirkkaassa luonnonvalossa ja kirkas silmämeikki vain korostaa asiaa. :)

I think I look this pale in bright natural light during winter and bright eye make makes me look even paler. :)

Tropical Absinthe

"Oli synkkä ja myrsyinen yö..." Joten sen vastapainoksi jotain värikästä: turkoosia, limeä ja keltaista.

" It was a dark and stormy night..." The weather has been awful around here so I wanted to do something bright and colorful: turquoise, lime green and yellow.

Colorful Make Up Inspiration from Paul Mitchell Ads

Satuin huomaamaan Stockalla käydessäni Paul Mitchellin hiustenhoitopakettien kyljessä kivan näköisiä meikkejä. Minun pitäisi etsiä aktiivisemmin uusia inspiraatioita, koska aamuisin niitä ei ihan itsellään tule. Nämä eivät onnistuneet ihan niin hyvin kuin toivoin, mutta näitä oli sentään kiva tehdä. :)
I happened to notice some new hair product packaging by Paul Mitchell and I liked the make up on them. I should be looking for inspiration more actively 'cause in the mornings it's the last thing on my mind. These didn't turn out that well, but they were fun to do. :)

Ensiksi puna-keltainen meikki. Tein nämä jo jonkin aikaa sitten, joten en muista enää tarkkoja sävyjä.
First red-yellow make up. I've already done these a while ago, so I don't remember all the shades I used.
