Sugarpill - Pink Weekend Sale

Nämä amerikkalaisten juhlapyhäalet tuhoavat talouden aina näin joulun alla... ;) Itse odottelen aina mielenkiinnolla Thanksgiving-viikonlopun tarjouksia. Monet meikkifirmat (varsinkin pienemmät) ovat mukana ja ajattelin, että jotain teistä voisi kiinnostaa Sugarpill-verkkokaupan -20-30% ale.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are probably a bit unfamiliar thing here in Finland. But I always wait for the online sales this time of the year (although they end up emptying my wallet). If you already didn't know, Sugarpill is having -20-30% of all items this weekend.

My Perfumed Candy Land

Ajattelin tehdä postauksen omistamistani tuoksuista. Itse tykkään lukea todella paljon hajuvesiaiheisia kirjoituksia. Olen melko huono kuvailemaan tuoksuja, joten olen ottanut tuoksujen nuotit (ja kuvat) Fragrantica -sivustolta. Loput mietelmät ovat ihan omiani. :) Aloin käyttämään hajuvesiä aika myöhään (vasta yli kaksikymppisenä). Ihan aluksi tykkäsin vesituoksuista á la L'eau par Kenzo ja sitten tykästyin kukkais-hedelmäisiin hajuvesiin. Viime vuosina olen ajatunut enemmän vaniljaisiin ja hieman raskaampiin tuoksuihin, mutta pidän ehdottomasti eniten makeista tuoksuista.

Here's a post about my perfumes. I love to read about scents from other people's blogs and wanted to write my own. I'm not that good at describing scents so I've copied the notes (and the pictures) from Fragratica site. Rest of the thoughts are my own. :) I started using perfumes quite late (I was in my twenties). At first I liked light "water" scents like L'eau Par Kenzo and then came fruity-florals. In the last 3-4 years I've started to love a bit heavier vanilla-based scents.   

Anna Sui: Sui Dreams (2000)
Scent group: oriental-vanilla

top notes: nectarine, mandarin orange, bergamot and bitter orange 
middle notes: freesia, peach, Chinese peony and rose
base notes: nutmeg, sandalwood, musk, Tahitian vanilla, cedar and anise

Tämä on ainoa hajuvesi, jonka ole saanut käytettyä ihan loppuun ja haluaisin hankkia uuden loppuneen tilalle (jos tätä vielä jostain saa). Sui Dreams on pehmeän, puuterisen vaniljainen. Käytin tätä arkena ja kaverini, joka ei pidä yhtään vaniljaisista tuoksuista, kehui tätä. Tästä tulee turvallinen olo. <3
This is so far the only perfume I've finished and I've been thinking about getting a new one (if this is still available somewhere). Sui Dreams is soft, powdery vanilla scent. I usually used this during day time. My friend who doesn't like vanilla scents complimented this. This perfume makes me feel safe. <3

Lolita Lempicka: L de Lolita Lempicka (2006)
Scent group: oriental-vanilla

top notes: cinnamon and bitter orange 
middle notes: immortal and vanilla 
base notes: woodsy notes and musk

Tämä on tämän hetkinen suosikkini. Kuten ehkä huomaatte, pidän makeista tuoksuista ja tämä on nimenomaan sitä. Mielestäni 'L' ei ole kuitenkaan ällöimelä. Ihan ensimmäisenä haistan tuoksussa sitrushedelmiä, mutta hyvin pian tuoksu muuttuu pehmeän vaniljaiseksi. Aivan ihastuttava. <3 <3 <3
This is my favorite perfume at the moment. As you can see, I really like sweet and gourmand scents and this is exactly that. But in my opinion 'L' is not sickly sweet. First I smells some citrus, but then the scent turns into soft, gourmand vanilla. Love it. <3 <3 <3

Lolita Lempicka: Lolita Lempicka edp (1997)
Scent group: floral-fruity-gourmand

Top Notes: Ivy, star anise, lemon, violet, pineapple, mahogany
Middle Notes : lily-of-the-valley, Amaryllis, Licorice, orris, jasmine, vetiver
Base Notes : Tonka bean, Vanilla, white musk, tobacco, heliotrope, almond

Tätä toista Lolita Lempickan tuoksua onkin vaikeampi kuvailla. Olen halunnut omistaa tämän tuoksun jo pitkään ja vihdoin tänä syksynä tilasin sen itselleni (Lempickan hajuvesiä sai Suomesta vielä 2000-luvun alussa, mutta jostain syystä ei enää :( ). Pelkäsin, että tämä hajuvesi olisi todella raskas ja siinä tuoksuisi lähinnä anis ja lakritsi, mutta onneksi niin ei käynyt. Tästä ei kuitenkaan tullut ihan oma suosikkini. Olen kuitenkin huomannut käyttäväni tätä hyvin usein arkisin. Tuoksu on makea ja omaan nenääni melko monimutkainen. Ehkä liiankin, koska en haista selkeästi mitään tiettyä tuoksua. Itse pullohan on aivan jumalaisen kaunis ja kyllä tämä tulee varmasti käytettyä loppuun (ehkä tuoksu aukeaa minulle hieman myöhemmin). <3
This other Lolita Lempicka perfume is much harder to describe. I've wanted this scent for a long time and finally this fall I decided to order it (it was available in Finland before, but not anymore :( ). I was afraid that this would be too heavy for me and I was also afraid that anise and licorice notes would be too dominant. I'm glad that didn't turn out to be true. But this still isn't one of my favorites, although I've been using this quite a lot during day time. Lolita Lempicka is very sweet and to me quite complicated scent. Perhaps too complicated, because I cannot tell the notes apart. The bottle itself is just insanely beautiful and I will be using this up (and perhaps I'll "get" this perfume a little later). <3 

Chopard: Happy Spirit Magical Nights (2008)
Scent group: oriental-vanilla

top notes: blood orange, yuzu and magnolia 
middle notes: osmanthus, raspberry and orchid 
base notes: caramel, praline and amber

Chopard on ollut minulle täysin uusi tuttavuus hajuvesissä. Suosittelujen ja tuoksukuvauksen perusteella tilasin tämän Happy Spirit Magical Nightsin netistä. Tämä ei ollut silti rakkautta ensinuuhkaisulla. Jälleen kerran kyseessä on makea tuoksu, mutta omaan nenääni haistan jotain ylikypsiä hedelmiä/marjoja. Ehdottomasti iltatuoksu, koska tämä hajuvesi on melko raskas (eikä missään nimessä tule käyttää päivinä, jolloin särkee päätä). Tässä tuoksussa on jotain hyvin omaperäistä, enkä ole koskaan tuoksutellut mitään vastaavaa.
Chopard's perfumes have been new for me. After recommendations I decided to order Happy Spirit Magical Nights. But it wasn't love at first sniff. Once again, this is a sweet scent, but I smell something like over-ripe berries and fruits. Definitely a night time scent, because this is quite strong (and not to be used if suffering from head aches). But this scent is quite unique (in my opinion). I've never smelled anything like this before.  

Aquolina: Pink Sugar (2004)
Scent group: floral-fruity-gourmand

top notes: bergamot, Sicilian orange, fig leaves 
middle notes: cotton candy, lily of the valley, liquorice, red fruits 
base notes: vanilla, caramel, woodsy and musky notes

Tämä tuoksu jakaa mielipiteitä, mutta minä tykkään. :) Tuoksukuvauksessa on paljon nuotteja, mutta omalla ihollani tämä tuoksuu vaniljalta ja vohvelikeksiltä. Kun olo on leikkisä ja kaipaan jotain tyttömäistä, käytän tätä tuoksua. (Ja kerran joku pikkutyttö sanoi ihmetellen, kun käveli ohitseni, että "täällä tuoksuu ihan kekseiltä" ;)). <3
This scent divides opinions, but I like this. :) There are lots of notes, but on my skin I only smell vanilla and waffles. When I feel very girlish wearing this. <3

Anna Sui: Dolly Girl 
Scent group: floral-fruity

top notes: bergamot, melon, apple, cinnamon,
middle notes: magnolia, rose, violet, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine
base notes: raspberry, vetiver, musk, amber, wild strawberry, teakwood

Anna Suin tuoksut houkuttelevat minua koristeellisten pullojen ja tyttömäisen imagon vuoksi todella paljon. Dolly Girl on melko kevyt tuoksu, mutta omaan makuuni turhan kukkainen.
Anna Sui perfumes tempt me with their lovely bottles and girly image. Dolly Girl is quite lite scent, but it's a bit too floral for my taste.   

Salvatore Ferragamo: Incanto Charms (2006)
Scent group: floral-fruity

top notes: passionfruit, honeysuckle
middle notes: turkish rose, jasmine 
base notes: woods, musk

Incanto Charms on viimeinen kukkais-hedelmäinen tuoksu, jonka olen ostanut. Se on kirpeän makea ja hedelmäinen. Ehdottomasti kesätuoksu. En tiedä, tuleeko tämä käytettyä loppuun vai pitäisikö pistää eteenpäin. 
Incanto Charms is the last floral-fruity perfume I've bought. It's quite crisp and sweet and fruity. Definitely a summer scent. I don't know if I'll still use this or if I should give it away. 

Givenchy: Eau Torride (2002)
Scent group: citrus-aromatic

top notes: mandarin orange, peach, bergamot and lemon 
middle notes: black elder, bamboo and jasmine 
base notes: sandalwood and jasmine

Tämä on kummajainen täällä joukossa. Jossain vaiheessa tykästyin tähän tuoksuun ja löysin sen alennuksesta. Nykyään en osaa käyttää tätä ollenkaan. En osaa kuvailla tuoksua juuri ollenkaan, mutta pullo miellyttää silmääni todella paljon.
This one is a lonely freak here. At some point I liked this and got it on sale. But today I just can't wear it. I don't even know how to describe the scent, but the bottle is really beautiful. 

Nina Ricci: Les Belles de Ricci Amour D'Amandier (1999)
Scent group: floral-fruity-gourmand

top notes: almond flower, kiwi, almond
middle notes: marzipan, heliotrope
base notes: white musk, vanilla, sandalwood

Tämän tuoksun pitäisi olla ihan täydellinen minulle tuoksunuottien perusteella, mutta jotenkin tämä on todella raskas ja saan tästä päänsäryn, eli en voi käyttää. 
This scent should be a perfect one for me based on the notes, but it's too heavy and overpowering and it gives me a headache so I can't use this.  

Versace: Versus Time For Pleasure (2003)
Scent group: floral-fruity

top notes: wild strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry 
middle notes: apricot, peach 
base notes: musk, vanilla

Muistan, että yhdellä kämppikselläni oli tätä ja tykästyin tähän hedelmäiseen tuoksuun. Tämä on varmaankin ainoa hajuvesi, josta avopuolisoni on selkeästi ilmaissut pitävänsä. Muista tuoksuista hän ei ole sanonut juuta eikä jaata. Nykyään en oikein osaa enää käyttää tällaisia kukkais-hedelmäisiä hajuvesiä. Kai sitä on tullut vanhaksi. ;)
I remember that one old roommate had this one and I really liked it. This is probably the only perfume that my boyfriend has said that he likes. Nowadays scents like this feel too young. I guess I'm growing old. ;)

Wow, quite a lot of text and as you can see I also have couple of mini perfumes and some samples. In my wanted list I have: Juicy Couture's 'Viva La Juicy' and Diesel's 'Loverdose'. I'm hoping Santa will get me one of them. ;) 

The Almost Weekly Freaky Make Up :)

Olimme jälleen istumassa iltaa synkän puhuvassa seurassa ja halusin kokeilla mustia circle lensejä toista kertaa. Silmiin laittaminen sujui huomattavasti helpommin kuin viimeksi. Nukkesilmien pariksi halusin todella tummat huulet.
We had a small goth club a week ago and I wanted to try my black circle lenses again. They were so much easier to put on this time around. I wanted to pair the doll eyes with dark lips.

Ehkä ei ole ihme, jos minua ei tunnista aina meikattuna. En ole koskaan pitänyt itseäni muuntautumiskykyisenä, mutta aika monta kertaa on käynyt niin, että ihmiset eivät ole tunnistaneet minua kuvasta, vaikka olisin itse siinä vieressä. 

I guess I shouldn't be surprised if people don't recognize me, but I guess I look very different with make up on. And sometimes people haven't recognized me from pictures even though I've been standing right next to them. 

Mad Tea Party - Kusmi Tea Order

Pieni välipostaus. Teimme parin kaverin kanssa kimppatilauksen Kusmi Tea:lle viikko sitten ja tänään ovelle kannettiin aivan hervottoman kokoinen laatikko. :) Täytyy sanoa, että tuotteet oli todella hyvin pakattu.
My friends and I ordered some tea from Kusmi Tea a week ago and today mailman brought me a *huge* box. :) Everything was extremely well packed.

Suurin osa näistä menee kavereilleni. Itselleni jää Prince Vladimir -täyttöpussi, St. Petersburg ja puolet suuresta Spicy Chocolate -purkista. Nämä kaikki ovat maustettua mustaa teetä. Prince Vladimir on ehdoton suosikkini. <3

Most of these will go to my friends. I ordered Prince Vladimir refill bag, St. Petersburg and half of the big Spicy Chocolate jar. All of them are flavored black teas. Prince Vladimir is my favorite. <3

Rapunzel, Poison & Rose

Värikombona violetti & kulta ovat nousseet yhdeksi suosikikseni silmämeikissä. Kummatkin värit korostavat vihreitä silmiä ja pidän muutenkin sävyjen dramaattisuudesta. Jostain syystä tämä meikki sai todella paljon kehuja kaupungilla liikkuessani. Tuollaisista kehuista tulee todella hyvä mieli, mutta hämmennyn yleensä niin paljon, että en osaa kuin kiittää.  
The combo of purple & gold has become one of my favorites in eye make up. They both compliment green eyes and look quite dramatic. For some reason this make up got lots of compliments when I was shopping. It makes me feel good, but I also get a bit confused and just say thanks.

Vihreitä ja kultaan taittavia sävyjä on kertynyt yllättävän paljon. Mystic ja Sorceress ovat Arcane Magic -luomivärejä, mutta ne eivät mielestäni ole kovin multi/duochrome sävyjä. 

I have surprisingly many green/golden shades. Mystic and Sorceress and Arcane Magic shadows, but in my opinion the duo/multichrome effect isn't that strong.

Violetteja olen tietysti hamstrannut, mutta suuri osa on jäänyt todella vähälle käytölle ja kuten huomaatte Freya, Oberon ja Fyre & Ice (sekä uusimmista Alchemist's Curse) ocat todella samankaltaisia keskenään. 

But it's not surprising that I have this many purples and violets. But many of these have almost been unused. As you can see Freya, Oberon and Fyre & Ice (and Alchemist's Curse from the new collection) are really similar. 

Baby Beluga - Nijiro - Beholder - Equality - Immortality

Neutraaja sävyjä onkin paljon vähemmän. Baby Beluga ja Nijiro on hankittu korostussävyiksi, mutta kulmaluulla käytettynä ne ovat omasta mielestäni liian kimalteisia. Sisäkulmassa käytettynä ne toimivat kyllä. Beholderia on kehuttu täydelliseksi 'taupe':ksi. Ja jos joku haaveilee Sugarpill:in Stella-sävystä, niin Immortality on huokeampi vaihtoehto. Kyseessä on siis musta, joka täynnä sateenkaaren väristä glitteriä. Aivan ihana!

I don't have that many neutral from Fyrinnae. Baby Beluga and Nijiro I got for highlighting, but they are too glittery to use on the brow bone. But they do work on the inner corner. Beholder is said to be a perfect taupe. And if anyone has been drooling after Sugarpill's Stella then Immortality could be more affordable dupe. It's black packed with multicolored glitter. Absolutely lovely!  

Another My Little Pony Inspired Make Up: Turquoise & Purple

Lisää karkkivärejä ja kimallusta. :) Olette ehkä huomanneet, että Fyrinnaen luomivärit ovat esiintyneet aika tiheään blogissani viime aikoina. (Toivottavasti ette vielä ole kyllästyneet.)

I've posted picture of this lipstick before, but it's just so pretty and the picture is taken with natural light so you can see the real shade better. <3 I really liked the combination if teal eyes and purple lips.

My Little Pony Inspired Make Up: Pinks and Purples

Olen viime aikoina käyttänyt melko murrettuja ja tummia sävyjä, joten nyt jotain päinvastaista. Halusin kokeilla Fyrinnaen 'Wake Not The Dead'-sävyä uudestaan, koska edellisessä meikissä se näytti niin nuhjuiselle. Päätin siis yhdistää pinkkiä ja violettia sen kaveriksi ja lopputuloksesta tuli heti mieleen My Little Ponyt ja niiden karkkivärit. <3
I've been using quite dark and muted colors lately so now something completely opposite. I wanted to give Fyrinnae's 'Wake Not The Dead' a second go 'cause last time it looked so muted in the pictures. I paired it with pink and purple and the result reminded me so much of My Little Ponies. <3

Fyrinnae continues: Omgwft, Dressed To Kill & Digital Faerie

Olen kärsinyt migreenistä ja muusta epämääräisestä, joten en ole pystynyt päivittämään blogia. Nyt sain vihdoin käsiteltyä lisää kuvia Fyrinnae-meikeistä. Tällä kertaa vuorossa on vihreää ja turkoosia.
I've been suffering from annoying migraine so I haven't been updating my blog lately. But now, finally, more pictures of Fyrinnae eye shadows in action. I give you: green and turquoise.

1. Omgwtf

Aivan mahtava kirkas limenvihreä. Näyttää purkissa melko samalta kuin 'We're All Mad Here', mutta tämä on kirkkaampi luomille laitettuna. 

Amazingly bright lime green (or chartreuse?). It looks quite same as 'We're All Mad Here' in the jar, but on the lids it's much brighter.

2. Dressed To Kill

Aivan ihana vihreä. Sopii silmieni väriin käsittämättömän hyvin. Lopputulos näyttää pehmeältä sammaleelta. Jo swatchatessa ihastuin tähän, mutta käytössä vielä nätimpi. 

Absolutely gorgeous green. Goes amazingly well with my eye color. It looks like moss. I fell in love with this when swatching, but it's even prettier when used.

3. Digital Faerie

Rakastan tämän sävyisiä kirkkaita turkooseja, jotka heijastavat sekä sinistä että vihreää. Nimikin on aivan ihastuttava. 

I love these bright blue-green turquoises and the name is so cute.

- eye shadows: Fyrinnae 'Digital Faerie' (turquoise), NARS Rajasthan duo (blackened teal), MAC Deep Blue Green pigment, Inglot M351 (ivory)

- eye liner: Rimmel Exaggerate

- mascara: Elizabeth Arden Double Density

Kaikki värit olivat pigmenttisiä ja helppoja työstää Pixie Epoxyn kanssa. Todella kauniita sävyä, joita tulee varmasti käytettyä usein.
