Black & Blue Wings

Vapaan illan kunniaksi pystyn laittamaan kuvat meikistä, jonka tein pari viikkoa sitten. Innostuin siipimäisestä kuvausmeikistä, joten tein siitä hiemn muunnellun version. Tällä kertaa musta-sinisenä.

I have a free and quiet evening, so here're couple of pictures of a look I did 2 weeks ago. I liked the winged eye make up I wore to the photoshoot so much that I wanted to try a different version of it. This time in black and blue.

Sininen on Sugarpillin jumalainen 'Royal Sugar'. Se on vaan niin mielettömän värinen. Harmi vain, että se varisee levittäessä paljon ja lopputuloksen kanssa pitää olla todella tarkka, että sävy jää epätasaiseksi.

The blue I'm using here is Sugarpill's gorgeous 'Royal Sugar'. It's a bit of a pain to apply (there's fall out and the result can be uneven if you're not really careful), but I love it anyway. :)

Abandoned Look

Tässä tulee nyt kuvat meikistä, joka minulla oli edellisen postauksen kuvissa. Olen todennut, että kuvissa itselläni toimii parhaiten ihan tumma meikki ja siipivarjostukset saavat silmät näkymään vähän kauempaakin.

Here's the make up I was wearing in the photoshoot I just posted about. Quite basic dark eye make up works the best for me in photos (you can actually see it from a distance). 

En ole enää ihan varma, mitä luomivärejä käytin. Muistaakseni Grimasin mattamustaa ja valkoista ja Inglotin metallinhohtoista harmaata. Irtoripset ovat siis H&M:n ja tykästyin niihin aika kovasti. Asia, josta en pidä, ovat kulmakarvani. Ne törröttävät aina joka suuntaan ja näyttävät kuvissa jostain syystä ruskealta, vaikka niiden pitäisi olla mustat. 

I don't remember exactly which eye shadows I used, but I'm guessing Grimas' matte black and white and Inglot's pearl grey. Falsies are from H&M and I really like them. One thing I don't like, though, are my eyebrows. I don't know why they always look messy and brown in pictures, although I've used black eyeshadow to fill them. 

Töissä jatkuu rankka työputki vielä n. 4 viikkoa, joten sinä aikana tulee edelleen satunnaisia päivityksiä. Toivottavasti teillä lukijoilla on ollut mukava kesä (itse en ole edes ehtinyt huomaamaan, että kohta on elokuu). Ehdin olla lomalla 3 päivää ja kävin leipomassa ja juhlimassa isäni synttäreitä. I'll be busy with work another 4 weeks. So I won't be making many updates. I hope all my readers have been having a nice summer (I've been too busy to even notice that it's almost August...). I had a 3-day mini vacation and went to bake and celebrate my dad's birthday.

Abandoned Places

Hektinen elämä jatkuu yhä. Minulle ei ole jäänyt aikaa eikä jaksamista päivittää blogia, vaikka halua olisikin. Sen verran kuitenkin, että kävin jälleen hovikuvaajani Markuksen kanssa ottamassa kuvia hylätyn tehtaan raunioilla. Todella omituinen ja hieman ahdistava paikka. Mutta todella siisti siinä samalla. Halusin päästä tepastelemaan pitkästä aikaa Jeffrey Campbellin korottomilla Nightwalkeilla. Siihen tarkoitukseen kuvauspaikka oli aika hurja valinta; joka puolella oli kaltevaa tasoa ja syviä ojia (selvisin kuitenkin yhtenä kappaleena pois).

My life is still very, very busy. I wish I had time to update my blog much more often. I had a photoshoot with Markus again. We went to the ruins of an old factory. The place was very creepy for some reason. Cool, but creepy. I wanted to wear my Jeffrey Campbell's Nightwalk shoes. The place really wasn't made for those shoes, because anywhere I went there was either uphill or down hill, or best, the both at the same time. ;)

Meikki oli aika simppeli: mustaa ja valkoista. Tekoripset löytyivät H&M:sta. Pitänee hankkia toinenkin pari, koska tykkään niiden mallista kovasti. Lähikuvia meikistä tulossa hieman myöhemmin.

I wanted to keep the make up quite simple: black & white. I found the falsies from H&M. I might get another pair 'cause they look so nice. Close-ups of the make up coming later.

Pastels, Pinks & Gold

Blogi on viettänyt melko pitkän tauon kovien työkiireiden ja sairastelun vuoksi. Tarkoituksenani oli tehdä useampikin päivitys juhannuksen aikana, mutta kehoni päätti pitää minut visusti sängyn pohjalla kovan flunssan kourissa 4 päivää (eikä tuo vieläkään ole kokonaan parantunut). Yllä oleva kuva on kahden viikon takaa, kun olimme toisen puoliskoni kanssa häissä vieraana. Vaatevalintani taisi yllättää osan ihmisistä. ;)

Sorry for being so quiet lately. I've been overly busy with work then I fell ill. :( The picture above was taken 2 weeks ago. Me and my other half attended a wedding. Some people were quite surprised of my outfit. :)

Halusin silmämeikkiin jotain väriä, mutta silti tiettyä pehmeyttä. Viininpunainen/tumma pinkki yhdistettynä kultaan on ollut ehdoton suosikkikombinaatio tänä kesänä. Se saan silmäni näyttämään erityisen vihreältä ja näyttää muutenkin kivalta.

I wanted some color to my eye makeup, but I still wanted it to look quite soft. Burgundy/dark pink combined with gold has been my favorite this summer. It makes my eyes looks very green and it's a nice look overall.

I've Been Loki'd

Vuorossa siis Loki -aiheinen meikki. Avengers -leffa kolahti ja kovaa; eikä vähiten Tom Hiddlestonin esittämän puolijumala Lokin vuoksi. ;) Värimaailma on melko rajattu, mutta ei se mitään. Olisin voinut ottaa mukaan vielä mustaa, mutta päädyin käyttämään vain kultaa ja vihreää.

Now is time for my Loki themed make up. I loved the Avengers movie (Tom Hiddleston's Loki helped a lot). :) Loki's colors are a bit limited, but that's ok. I could've used black, but decided against it. Might do another version of this some say.

Taltutin kulmakarvat ensin puikkoliiman avulla (eivätkä ne perhanat silti pysy tasaisena ihoa vasten). Meikin muodot tulevat lähinnä Lokin käyttämästä kultaisesta kypärästä, jossa on suuret sarvet.

I used a glue stick to my eyebrows and they're still not as smooth as I wanted (stupid brows). The shapes in this look come mainly from the gold helmet that Loki wears (it's got huge horns).

Tässä vielä kuvaa inspiraation lähteestä. <3 Ja koska olen ihan täysissä mielen ja ruumiin voimissani, niin todennäköisesti tämä Loki -figuuri tulee löytymään joululahjojeni joukosta (maksaa vaivaiset 220$). :D Tuo alkaa olla niin elävän näköinen, että vähän pelottaa (voisin silti ottaa tällaisen ihan oikeassa koossa).

Here's a picture of my inspiration. <3 I've probably lost my mind, but I will most likely order this as x-mas present for myself (this costs about $220). This figure looks so real that it's scary (but I wouldn't mind owning one in real size). ;)

Royal Gold & Purple

Jälleen yksi meikki, jonka tein goottiklubia varten. Minun on pitänyt käyttää Sugarpillin upeaa Goldiluxia jo monen monta kertaa, mutta päiväkäytössä se tuntuu jotenkin överiltä. Iltakäyttöön se on aivan täydellinen. Lopputulos on kuin sulaa metallia. Ainoaksi ongelmaksi muodostui rajauskynän näkyvyys tuon kullan päällä. Tällä hetkellä omistain vain yhden(!) mustan nestemäisen rajauksen ja se on kynämuodossa. Sellainen dipattava malli sopisi varmasti paremmin tähän tarkoitukseen, eikä kulta sekoittuisi siis pahasti mustan kanssa.

Yet another look for a gothic club. I've wanted to use Sugarpill's amazing Goldilux for many times, but it's a bit too much even for me during day time. But it's perfect for evenings. My only problem was the black eyeliner, which mainly smudged the gold along the lash line. I only own one(!) black liquid eyeliner at the moment and it's a felt tip (pen) liner. One you could dip might work better with the gold and not mix so badly.

Mars & Loki's Army

Tässä synkän ja myrskyisän viikonlopun meikkiä. Tykkään vaan niin paljon yhdistää toisia kirkkaita värejä violetin kanssa. Tällä kertaa vuorossa siis turkoosi.

Here's a look from last weekend (it was dark and stormy). I love combine purple with other bright colors, this time with turquoise.

Seppälöihin on tullut myyntiin jälleen uusia, edullisia meikkejä merkiltä MIYO. Kun näin tämän Mars -nimisen kynsilakan (3,95€), en vain voinut vastustaa. Keskitumma violetti, jossa on turkoosia shimmeriä. Aivan ihana! Peittää hyvin kahdella kerroksella. Pysyvyyskin on hyvä. Omat kynteni ovat valitettavasti aivan kamalassa kunnossa, josta pahoittelut.

There's a new, quite cheap brand MIYO in stores here. When I saw this nailpolish called 'Mars' it was love at first sight: medium dark purple with intense turquoise shimmer. <3 It's opaque with two layers. My hands and nails are in an awful shape, sorry for that.

Ja tässä vielä iltakokonaisuus. Halusin laittaa taas pitkästä aikaa Illamasquan 'Apocalips' -huulipunaa. Kuvassa on myös uusi T-paita hankintani. Törmäsin vahingossa sivuun Teebusters, jossa on myynnissä yksi printtipaita aina 48h kerrallaan. Sitten kun paita on mennyt, sitä ei enää voi tilata. Ilokseni satuin sivulle, kun siellä oli vuorossa 'Loki's Army'. <3 Fanityttö on taas iloinen. (Heti, kun minulla on aikaa, haluan tehdä Loki-aiheisen meikin.)

And here's what I looked like in the evening. I wanted to wear Illamasqua's 'Apocalips' after a long while. You can also see my latest t-shirt purchase from Teebusters. I love the idea behind that shop. There's one design for 48 hours and after it's gone, it's gone. I was lucky to catch 'Loki's Army' shirt, which made this fangirl very, very happy. <3 (And as soon as I have more time I want to do a Loki themed make up.)
