Burning Heart Revisited

Sugarpillin 'Burning Heart' -palettia ei tule käytettyä tarpeeksi usein. Ehkä näin talvella värit tuntuvat vähän turhan räikeiltä. Tänään iski kuitenkin inspiraatio tehdä tulinen silmämeikki (yksi aiempi versio löytyy täältä). Värit todellakin ovat näin kirkkaat, en ole käsitellyt kuvia mitenkään.
I don't use Sugarpill's 'Burning Heart' palette often enough. And maybe this time of the year the colors feel a bit too bright, but today I wanted to do a fiery look (other look using this palette can be found here). The eye shadows really are this bright, I haven't added any contrast.

Taidan ihan oikeasti näyttää näin valkoiselta talvella kirkkaassa luonnonvalossa ja kirkas silmämeikki vain korostaa asiaa. :)

I think I look this pale in bright natural light during winter and bright eye make makes me look even paler. :)

Tämä silmämeikki saa silmäni näyttämään taas pelottavan vihreiltä. Lopputulos on kokonaisuudessaan aika räikeä, mutta minua se ei onneksi häirinnyt. ;)

This eye make up makes my eyes look really green. It's almost scary. Overall this look is a bit bright, but fortunately I don't really mind. ;)

Halusin silmämeikkiin samaa turkoosia hohdetta kuin huulikiillossa. Yllättäen 'Lumin' väri näkyy paljon paremmin kokokasvokuvassa. 

I wanted some turquoise shimmer to my eye make up (similar to the glitter in the lipgloss). To my surprise 'Lumi' shows up much better in the whole face picture.

Kyseessä on siis Models Ownin Beetle Juice -kokoelma. :) Aivan ihania lakkoja. Tykkään jostain syystä nykyään melkein pelkästään duochrome -lakoista. Ne on niin jännännäköisiä kynsillä. En ole hyvä ottamaan kuvia kynsistä, saatikka lakkaamaan kynsiä, joten yrittäkää kestää. :) 

My post is about Models Own's Beetle Juice collection. :) Really beautiful polishes. For some reason I almost only wear duochrome polishes at the moment. They look so pretty and exciting on the nails. I'm not good at photographing nail polishes or painting my nails. So bare with me. :)

Kaunis sävy ja ehkä turvallisin vaihtoehto näistä viidestä. Lakka näyttää oikeasti kynsillä paljon paremmalta kuin kuvassa (valaistusolosuhteet ovat tässä kämpässä todella huonot).

Very pretty and probably the safest choice of these 5 polishes. it looks much better in reality than in my picture (we have the worst light in our flat). 

Purple Blue on melko samanlainen kuin Orlyn 'Galaxy Girl', mutta taidan tykätä kuitenkin Orlysta pikkaisen enemmän. Pidän tästä väriyhdistelmästä todella paljon: tumma, mutta moniulotteinen.

Purple Blue is quite similar to Orly's 'Galaxy Girl' and I think I like the Orly one a bit better. This color combination is really beautiful, dark, but multidimensional. 

(Yay, I was able to catch the duochrome effect with my camera!!)

Tämä lakka on näistä varmaankin suosikkini. Tässä duochrome-efekti on voimakkain. Turkoosin ja violetin yhdistelmä. <3

Aqua Violet is probably my favorite of the bunch. Its got the strongest duochrome effect. Turquoise and violet combined. <3

Golden Green oli siitä puolesta yllättäjä, että en ole koskaan käyttänyt tällaista kullanvihreää kynsilakkaa. Todella kaunis väri, joka kävi minulle yllättävän hyvin.

Golden Green surprised me by being a really lovely color. I've never worn anything like this.

(This must've been the 4th day or something wearing this polish, so there's some tip wear.)

Emerald Black on myös hyvin kaunis, mutta en saanut kuvissa tuota turkoosin vihreää hohdetta oikein näkyviin. Harmi vain, että tämän harjaosa on vähän mytyssä, joka vaikeuttaa lakan levittämistä.

Emerald Black is also very beautiful, but I couldn't catch the teal/green shimmer in my pictures that well. Too bad the brush is a bit damaged, it makes application much harder. 

MILANI - Lips Flash & Haute Flash, Swatches & Review

Milanin Lip Flash -kynät ovat kiinnostaneet jo pitkään. Luin niistä Lazy Dynamite and Vampy Varnish blogeista ja nyt vihdoin tilasin kyniä itselleni. Viime kesänä julkaistiin myös rajoitettu erä Haute Flash -huulikiiltoja, joita ei silloin saanut mistään netikaupasta tilattua Suomeen. Luulin onneni menneen ohitse, kunnes nyt tammikuussa kävin Cherry Culturen sivuilla ja siellähän niitä kiiltoja oli. Sitten nopeasti etsimään swatcheja ja päädyin näihin kahteen väriin.
I've been interested en Milani's Lip Flash pencils for a while now. I read about them in Lazy Dynamite and Vampy Varnish blogs and finally decided to order. Last summer Milani released a limited edition of Haute Flash lipglosses, but I couldn't find any place that would've shipped to Finland. To my huge surprise this month I found them on Cherry Culture. I quickly searched some good swatches and bought 2 glosses.

Lip Flash - Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencilit ovat siis kynämuodossa olevia huulipunia. (Urban Decay on nyt myös julkaissut omat huulipunakynänsä.) Värivaihtoehtoja on toistaiseksi 8 ja kaikissa on kimalletta joukossa. Mutta jos pidät kirkkaista väreistä ja kimalluksesta, suosittelen näitä ihan ehdottomasti. Kummatkin kynät ovat pigmenttisiä, helppoja levittää ja pysyvät huulilla pitkään (kestävät syömistä ja juomistakin melko hyvin). Pinkimpi 'Photo Flash' on koostumukseltaan hieman ohuempi ja glitterisempi kuin 'Hot Flash'. 'Hot Flash' on aivan upea, metallinen punainen, joka taittaa lämpimään. Niin kaunis. *huokaus*

Lip Flash - Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencils are lipsticks in pencil shape. A great idea. (Urban Decay has also released pencil lipsticks now.) There're 8 shades at the moment and I do hope they'll release couple more. All are quite glittery, but if you are into bright and glittery lipsticks, these are for you. I highly recommend. Both of these pencils are pigmented, easy to apply and stay quite long on the lips (even through eating and drinking). The pinker shade 'Photo Flash' is a bit sheerer and more glittery than 'Hot Flash'. 'Hot Flash' is gorgeous, metallic, warm toned red. So beautiful. *sigh*

Haute Flash - Full Coverage Shimmer Lipglosseja on verrattu suoraan MACin Dare To Wear Lipglass -kiiltoihin (jotka eivät myöskään ikinä tulleet Suomen valikoimiin, prkl!). Swatchien perusteella Milanin kiillot ovat aivan vastaavia aina pakkauksia myöten. Hinta tosin on vain 1/3 MACin kiilloista. Nämä kiillot ovat todellakin peittäviä (vaaleampi vähän vahemmän) ja helppoja levittää. Mutta nämä ovat melko tahmeita, eli jos kimalle ja tahmaisuus eivät iske, niin kannattaa pysyä kaukana. ;) Näissä on vaniljainen tuoksu, mutta mielestäni se on aika mieto. 

Haute Flash - Full Coverage Shimmer Lipglosses have been compared to MAC's Dare To Wear Lipglasses (which were never released in Finland, damnit!). And based on swatches they are spot on dupes. These glosses are opaque (the lighter color less so) and easy to apply. But they are quite sticky. So if glittery and sticky isn't your cup of tea, stay away. ;) The glosses have mild vanilla scent.

Haluan ehdottomasti vielä pari kynää: In a Flash (saman värinen kuin tuo kiilto) ja News Flash (tumma viininpunainen). Ja haluan ehdottomasti kokeilla vaaleaa Star Flash -kiiltoa MACin 'Hellraiser' dazzle-huulipunan päällä. Tuplaglitter!! :) Olen rakastunut.
I definitely want couple more pencils: In a Flash (same as the gloss) and News Flash (dark burgundy). And I really want to test the light Star Flash gloss over MAC's dazzle lipstick in 'Hellraiser'. Double Glitter!!! :) I'm in love.

I've written about this show earlier and I still recommend this to everyone. This is the 1st season DVD and the 2nd season was released yesterday(?) so I'll probably get that one soon.

Lime Red

Pääsin vihdoin eteenpäin violetista kaudestani ja tässä vähän todistusaineistoa. :) Minulla olisi aika paljon päivitettävää, mutta viime aikoina työpäivät/-viikot ovat venyneet ja iltaisin olen ollut aivan liian väsynyt kirjoittamaan ja käsittelemään kuvia.
Finally something else than purple. :) I have so many things to write about, but I've been having long work days/weeks lately and I've been way too tired to photoshop pictures or write something. But I'll try to make time.

'Lucky Charmed' on todella kaunis, metallinen, kultaan taittava vihreä. Vähän ehkä syksyinen väri näin lumen keskelle, mutta en ole koskaan oikein meikannut vuoden aikojen mukaan.

'Lucky Charmed' is beautiful, metallic, golden green. It would probably work better in autumn, but I've never really cared what shades I use in different seasons.

Ja sitten vähän vastaväriä. En ole käyttänyt Pure Luxen 'Ouch!' -sävyä ikuisuuksiin. Kuvissa se näyttää tosi kesyltä, ehkä salamalla olisin saanut näkymään, kuinka kirkas pinkki on kyseessä. Väri on todella kauniin satiininen. 

And then a bit of the opposite. I haven't used Pure Luxe's 'Ouch!' in ages. In these pictures it looks really muted (maybe I should've taken some shots with flash). In person it's much brighter and intense. Lovely satiny shadow. 

Purple Season

"Last week I've been mostly wearing... purple." :)
Minulla on jonkunlainen violetti kausi ollut jälleen meneillään. Osaksi johtuen 'Chinchilla' -huulipunasta (jonka korkkiin tuki halkeama, vaikka se on ollut vain meikkipöydällä. Buu.). Sen kanssa käy todella hyvin sumuiset, tummat violetit.

I've been having a purple season lately. Partly because of 'Chinchilla' lipstick (its cap already has a crack, although it's only been on my dressing table. Boo.). It's goes so well with smoky, muted purples.

Hyper Intelligence and Black Lips

Idea tähän meikkiin tuli Stay Beautiful -blogin Robynilta. Muistatte varmaan sen tekorusketus meikin? ;) Robyn ehdotti yhdistämään kyseiseen silmämeikkiin mustat huulet ja idea kuulosti oikein hyvältä (ilman sitä järkyttävää oranssia naamaa, siis). Se sopi mainiosti myös eilisiltaiseen asuuni.
I got the idea for this look from Stay Beautiful blog's Robyn (thank you!). You probably remember the fake tan look? ;) Well, Robyn suggested that I combine the eye make up with black lips and I liked the idea (without that horrible orange face, that is). It looked wonderful with my outfit last night.

And here's my last night's outfit. I fell in love with this dress by Lip Service (from Hyper Intelligence line). It's really comfy and looks great. :)
