So Silver

En ole pitkään aikaan käyttänyt hopeaa meikissä. Kesällä se vaan tuntuu liian kylmältä ja kovalta sävyltä. Mutta nyt, kun syysillat tummenevat on ihana ottaa käyttöön taas dramaattisia ja näyttäviä sävyjä (no joo, teen sitä kyllä kesälläkin, mutta syksyllä ne vain sopivat paremmin).

I haven't used silvery eyeshadow in a long while. Silver just isn't a summer color for me. It feels too cold. But now that autumn is here all the deep and dramatic shades call me. :) (Well, to be honest, I do use quite dramatic make up even in summer... ;))

Näyttävä, mutta simppeli look. Fyrinnaen 'Calavera Cupcakes' on todella kaunis ja hienojakoinen hopea. Aivan ihana!

Showy yet quite simple look. Fyrinnae's Calavera Cupcakes is a truly beautiful silvery shade. Love it!

Meillä oli kahdet bileet samana viikonloppuna ja olin niin laiska, että meikkasin samalla tavalla. Tämä oli alkuperäinen meikki. Kuva on otettu aamuyöstä klo 3. Täytyy itsekin ihmetellä, että meikki on kestänyt melkein täydellisenä 8h tanssimisesta ja hikoilusta huolimatta. :)


We had two parties that same weekend and I was so lazy that I had almost exactly the same make up both nights. This was the original one. This picture was taken 3am and I'm quite surprised that the make up looks so fresh after 8 hours of dancing. 

Hyper Intelligence and Black Lips

Idea tähän meikkiin tuli Stay Beautiful -blogin Robynilta. Muistatte varmaan sen tekorusketus meikin? ;) Robyn ehdotti yhdistämään kyseiseen silmämeikkiin mustat huulet ja idea kuulosti oikein hyvältä (ilman sitä järkyttävää oranssia naamaa, siis). Se sopi mainiosti myös eilisiltaiseen asuuni.
I got the idea for this look from Stay Beautiful blog's Robyn (thank you!). You probably remember the fake tan look? ;) Well, Robyn suggested that I combine the eye make up with black lips and I liked the idea (without that horrible orange face, that is). It looked wonderful with my outfit last night.

Tässä sitten illan asu. Ihastuin tähän Lip Servicen 'Hyper Intelligence' mekkoon ihan täysillä. Se on päällä mukava kuin mikä ja näyttää hyvältä. :)

And here's my last night's outfit. I fell in love with this dress by Lip Service (from Hyper Intelligence line). It's really comfy and looks great. :)

Silver vs. Gold

Tein kaksi silmämeikkiä, jotka ovat periaatteessa samanlaiset. Suurin ero on liikkuvalla luomella, jossa toisessa meikissä käytin hopeaa ja toisessa kultaa.
I made two looks which are basically the same. The biggest difference is the lid color. In other one I used silver and in other gold.

- primer: UDPP/Pixie Epoxy

- eye shadows: Fyrinnae 'Dinosaur Plushie' & 'Calavera Cupcakes', NARS 'Rajasthan' (blackened teal), Inglot M340 (dark matte teal) & M373 (matte white)

- eye liner: GOSH Long Lasting Eye Liner Pen, 002 Turquoise

- mascara: Maybelline Lash Stiletto

 

Tykkään tästä hopean ja tumman vihreän/turkoosin yhdistelmästä todella paljon ja olin yllättynyt, miten upeasti GOSHin turkoosi eyeliner sopii tähän meikkiin.

I really like this combination of silver and dark teal/green. And I was surprised how beautiful GOSH's turquoise eyeliner looks here.

Ajattelin, että kulta sopisi tumman vihreän kanssa, mutta lopputulos on turhan jouluinen. ;) Kummasta te pidätte enemmän?

I thought that gold would go nicely with dark greens, but the result is a bit too christmasy for my taste. ;) Which was you prefer?

Kokeilin saman meikin yhteydessä myös vähän erikoisempia huulia. Laitoin ensin pohjalle MACin 'Kirsch' mattene-punaa ja päälle Morgana Cryptorian 'Enchanted Emerald'. (Luin jostain, että MACillä on ollut huulipuna nimeltä Spanish Fly, joka oli ruskeanpunainen vihreällä hohteella ja innostuin siitä.)

I paired the look with a bit unusual lips. First I applied MAC's mattene lipstick 'Kirsch' and on top of it Morgana Cryptoria's 'Enchanted Emerald'. (I've read about a MAC lipstick called 'Spanish Fly', which was described as brownish red with green sheen. It sounded like fun, so I decided to try this.)
